This is an extract from the full guidance for use of the gardens, a copy of which is issued to all householders. Extra copies are available from Association committee members.
These are private gardens, for use only by the owners/occupiers of the following properties:
1 -19 Learmonth Gardens
1 -23 South Learmonth Gardens.
No other individuals may use the gardens.
One key to the gardens is issued to each householder eligible for access. The gates to the gardens must be kept locked at all times.
Dogs are not allowed in the gardens, even on a leash.
Only pre-school tricycles may be brought into the gardens. No other cycles are allowed.
Music: The playing of music audible to other people is prohibited in the gardens, except by prior agreement by the Association.
Liabilities: Individuals using the gardens will be held responsible for damage to persons or property arising out of their own activities or those of their guests
Flowers or shrubs may not be cut or otherwise damaged and soil must not be removed from the gardens. Care must be taken not to injure the trees and not to go onto flower/shrub beds.
Games: The garden facilities are not designed for games played by older children and adults. Damage caused by such games cost time and money to repair, and adversely affect the amenity. All such games are prohibited.
All ball games involving a 'hard' ball - including football, bat-and-ball, tennis, cricket - are not allowed.
Please remember:
If members are using the gardens to play with their younger children - essentially pre-school and primary school ages - please consider the wishes of other residents who may enjoy a 'monitored boisterousness', but who will not relish a sense of uncontrolled activity!
Association committee members have authority to stop any activity in the gardens, felt inappropriate.
All individuals using the gardens have a responsibility to follow the rules of the Association; the Association cannot be held responsible for injury to individuals or property sustained while using the gardens.
Please enjoy and take care of this valuable facility.
