Subscriptions to the LGA

The subscription for the current year [April-March] is agreed at the Annual General Meeting of the LGA, held in May. This page has information about the current subscription and payment arrangements. It also outlines what the subscription pays for and some headlines on important issues, more information being available elsewhere on this website.

All householders must pay the agreed subscription. If you own the property at the due date you are legally obliged to pay.

To be eligible for the reduced 'early bird' discount, your aubscription must be received by the Treasurer before 31st July. Payment received after this date must be at the full rate.

If you are selling your property and have not exchanged titles by the due date you remain legally liable for the subscription. It is important you ensure any buyer of your property understands the underlying legalities. Check the 'Legalities' page for more information about your obligation to pay. If the subscription is not received, note that any legal action initiated by the Association will be against the owner as at the due date FOR THE FULL SUBSCRIPTION.

.

The due date for receipt of subscriptions is 31 August. An 'early-bird' discounted payment applies to subscriptions received before 31 July. The 'full' amount payable is due for all subscriptions received after 31 July.

CURRENT SUBSCRIPTION

The Subscription for 2011-2012 is:
FULL SUBSCRIPTION: Amount payable after 31/7/11: £130
'Early-bird' inclusive rate, if received more than one month before the due date: [received before 31/7/11] £110

PAYMENT

A generic letter is hand-delivered to all relevant properties after the AGM, giving information about the subscription and payment. This letter includes a return form; please enclose with your payment, a completed copy of the 'return' document. Please make any cheque payable to 'Learmonth Gardens Association'.

If you have not received the relevant letter, or if you have any questions about payment, please contact the LGA Treasurer: treasurer@learmonth-gardens.org.uk. A copy of the letter and return form is available to download as a pdf here.

Minutes of the AGMs are available from the LGA Secretary. You may email the Secretary here. Further information about subscriptions and payment is contained in the newsletter 'The Gardens', distributed regularly to households throughout the year; please keep a look-out for these newsletters as they are important for your on-going update on LGA issues.

Note: all monies raised by these subscriptions is used to support the maintainance of the gardens; such money is NOT used for non-gardens business*. This ensures that all subscription income is governed by members' legal obligations.
[*the 2005 AGM agreed the principle that the LGA engage the services of an Administrator. The cost of this engagement is deemed part of 'routine' maintenance.]

Should the LGA need to raise money for non-gardens business, this will be by a separate process. To date, no such monies have been required due to the generosity of individual committee members.
